3. Gabriel Garcia Marquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude - stunning imagery. the symbolisms are rife with meaning
4. J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, with The Hobbit - story-telling at its finest
5.Isabel Allende's The House of Spirits - the saga of an extraordinary family in turbulent times...
6.Isak Dinesen's Out of Africa - the romance and grandeur of africa captured here. kenyan coffee? yes, please.
7.C.S. Lewis' The Narnia Chronicles - gets deeper and deeper each time you read it
8.Golier's Encyclopedia (the whole shebang)- was addicted to the encyclopedia from age 10-12. read all the volumes too. cover to cover. i swear.

i totally agree with you on Isabel Allende's House of the Spirits. beauuuutiiiful book. you know, Susan Isaacs is classified as a romance novelist but she's more angsty than romantic. and she's really funny too.

sobrang natawa ako sa encyclopedia! grabe, ako COLLIER'S and pinupuntirya ko noon. i think i passed a lot of college entrance exams dahil sa kakabasa ko ng encyclopedia way back when i was in grade 6. kakaaliw lalo yung anatomy pages na transparent, all the way from the skeletal to the external/epidermal system!
