Tales From My Bookshelf: The Zany, Wickedly Funny World of Roald Dahl

A literature professor introduced me to the sublime and wickedly irreverent writings of Roald Dahl. This is is my almost-complete collection. I need a few more books. Does anyone have an extra copy of the following to give or sell: “The Gremlins,” “The Vicar of Nibbleswicke,” and “Billy and the Minpins?” Then there’s his collection of adult short stories- “Kiss, Kiss,” and “Someone Like You.”

Most people know him for giant peaches and chocolate factories, Dahl takes the comfortable, polite facade of mid-century society and gleefully tears it to shreds, seasoning dark tales of revenge, obsession, and infidelity with an unforgettable, razor-sharp wit. It was a masterclass in how storytelling can be both magnificently dark and impossibly fun. Decades later, those sinister twists and pitch-black punchlines still live in my head rent-free.

What is your favorite underrated Dahl masterpiece?
